Miscarriage Counselling
Miscarriage Counselling, Online Across Australia
Your loss is real, whatever the world calls “early.” I'm Roisin — a psychotherapist specialising in baby loss, and a mum who has experienced miscarriage myself. This is a space to grieve a baby the world may never have met.
The Grief Nobody Prepares You For
One in four pregnancies in Australia ends in miscarriage — and yet it remains one of the loneliest griefs there is. You may have been told to “try again,” that it “wasn't meant to be,” or that “at least it was early.” None of those words hold the truth: you lost your baby, and the future you had already begun to imagine.
Whether you experienced a missed miscarriage, a chemical pregnancy, recurrent losses, an ectopic pregnancy, or a termination for medical reasons — your grief deserves real support, not minimising.

Client Experiences
From a Client Who Has Been Where You Are
We lost a baby at 12 weeks. It was the hardest time of our life and Roisin was a huge support — giving me space to talk through my feelings and the challenge of parenting a toddler during this grief. Talking about it is hard, but talking has been incredibly therapeutic. I've reached a point where I can talk about our loss without crying. I feel much more in control.

Questions You Might Have
“Is it normal to still be grieving months after a miscarriage?”
Yes. Grief after miscarriage doesn't follow a timeline, and it doesn't correspond to how many weeks pregnant you were. You were building a future with your baby from the moment you knew. It's also common for grief to arrive late — hitting hardest after everyone else has moved on, around your due date, or when a friend announces a pregnancy.
“Do I qualify for support if my loss was very early?”
Absolutely. There is no loss 'too early' to grieve. Whether you experienced a chemical pregnancy at five weeks or a missed miscarriage at twelve, your loss is real and your grief is valid. Many of my clients tell me they didn't feel 'allowed' to grieve an early loss — this is exactly the space where you are.
“My partner and I are grieving differently. Is that normal?”
Very. Partners often grieve on different timelines and in different ways, and this mismatch can create real strain. Therapy can help you understand each other's grief without needing it to look the same.
“How does online miscarriage counselling work in Australia?”

There are no waiting rooms, no clinical settings, and no need to explain the basics of pregnancy loss to your therapist.
